When my brother and I (Hannah) were young, our parents were inspired to create a lasting heritage by praying Scripture-based blessings over us. At first, they used simple word pictures, like “May your faith grow to be strong as an oak tree,” and “May your love be deep like the ocean.” As we grew older, our dad wrote a blessing, which became a staple for our family. One of my most cherished memories is of him placing his hand on our heads and praying this over us nightly. It meant so much that I eventually set it to music (listen to "The Blessing Song"). Now my husband, Michael, and I have the joy of praying blessings over our children.
We were compelled to create a book based off the blessing prayer that my dad wrote. The easy-to-read biblical truths, combined with charming illustrations by our wonderfully talented friend, Elizabeth Foster, are sure to engage everyone—from the youngest of children to the oldest of grown-ups!
Our prayer is that it inspires grown-ups—whether parents, grandparents, or other loved ones—to pass down to the children in their lives a spiritual heritage shaped by Scripture. We also pray that those who’ve never experienced the love of earthly parents will come to know the unsurpassed love and security of belonging to their heavenly Father. May these future generations put their faith in Christ Jesus, who is the greatest blessing of all!
The Blessing Book is a 40-page, hardcover, 9" x 9" book featuring delightful, full-color illustrations. Short devotionals come to life through heartwarming images and corresponding Scripture. Each book contains a QR code to listen to the accompanying "The Blessing Song." A customizable dedication page in front makes it the perfect gift to share with that special child in your life!

"The Blessing Book is one families will want to go back to again and again. Read it over the course of several days, the way I would with my grandchildren, talking about each section and lingering over the captivating illustrations on every page. Use it as part of family devotions around the dinner table! The engaging, concise, cheery language will make the big concepts of knowing Jesus easy to grasp. And I expect that by singing the accompanying song, kids will remember these truths for a lifetime. Your whole family will love this charming, inspiring book."

"As I hold The Blessing Book in my hands, I find myself traveling back in time thirty years—listening to Harry, Hannah’s dad, speak this blessing over her and her brother. The voices of Hannah’s family echo through its pages and stir up vibrant memories of her childhood and family life—filled with faith, warmth, Scripture, love, and blessing. This book is the real deal. Hannah’s parents chose to proactively bless their children daily, and now Hannah and Michael are blessing theirs. But the story and power of this blessing doesn’t have to end there. Read this book and sing this song to your children. Then you too can experience the power of blessing your children with a spiritual heritage that is shaped by Scripture, and a blessing that is living and eternal."

“This short devotional book is written with language that small children can understand and contains very colorful, illustrative, and creative pictures that will engage the child. The simple story of the Bible is explained in such a way that any parent could use it as an introduction of basic, biblical faith to their children. The love of God for us, as well as what it means to love God and live for him, are explained in terms that help a child comprehend Christ’s lordship over all of life. I think your family will enjoy using it time and time again.”

"Hannah exemplifies profound blessing in her life. Michael and Hannah are continuing to bless their children, and the evidence is clear. Now we readers have the opportunity to share in this blessing and to ask God to work deeply in our and our loved ones lives. The words and delightful illustrations of this book will captivate your heart."

"The blessing was an important part of God’s miraculous plan for salvation. Abraham, Issac and Jacob all received the blessing. It had great meaning then, and Harry Traylor, hit the nail on the head, when he wrote these cherished words. Truly a blessing is still important today! What comfort any child would find in these precious and deeply meaningful words being spoken or sung over him or her daily. I am thrilled that Hannah and Michael have decided to share these words with all of us. They perfectly capture the blessing in this beautifully illustrated book. This is a book every family will treasure!"
